MakerSpace, a service of the Mid North Coast Community College, is a vibrant hub located in Port Macquarie, dedicated to fostering community development through socially inclusive learning programs and opportunities. With a sprawling 600m2 of creative spaces, MakerSpace offers a membership model that caters to learners, teachers, artists, craftsmen, and mentors alike. The business aims to build a sense of belonging and engagement for all individuals, enabling them to re-engage with life and learning, and to reimagine their futures.
The ReCommunity Project, spearheaded by MakerSpace, is a community-led initiative aimed at reengaging and regenerating the local community. Through a variety of programs such as arts for recovery and wellbeing, community events, and workshops for kids and young people, MakerSpace seeks to break down barriers to participation and promote individual wellbeing. The project also emphasizes the importance of self-care and professional development for facilitators, ensuring a sustainable and connected community.
