With a team of more than 450 staff members, CatholicCare offers programs and projects across key areas, focusing particularly on children, young people, and families of all backgrounds and circumstances.

Founded in 1960 as the Catholic Family Welfare Bureau in Hobart, CatholicCare Tasmania has a rich history of providing marriage, family, and relationship counseling services that remain at the core of its mission. Guided by the Archbishop’s Charter for CatholicCare, the organization is committed to fostering a spirit of humble service, mercy, and compassion for all, in alignment with the teachings of the Catholic Church and Catholic Social Teaching.

CatholicCare Tasmania’s social impact approach aims to enhance individual, family, and community wellbeing by integrating internal services, strengthening external partnerships, and focusing on place-based support. With a holistic view of well-being and change at the community level, CatholicCare works across seven interconnected domains to improve outcomes and effectively support the needs of vulnerable individuals and families in Tasmania.
