Caboolture Child & Youth Mental Health Service, part of the Redcliffe-Caboolture Child and Youth Mental Health Service (RCCYMHS), is dedicated to providing specialist recovery-oriented mental health services to children and young people in the Redcliffe, Caboolture, Bribie Island, and Kilcoy regions. Their multidisciplinary team offers support to not only the young individuals but also their families and other stakeholders. With a focus on severe, complex, and enduring mental health difficulties, they offer a variety of clinical services to address the unique needs of each individual.
Operating within the Caboolture Hospital, the service is committed to excellence in healthcare delivery. The team of health professionals at Caboolture Hospital, including Medical Officers, Nurse Practitioners, and Clinical & Registered Nurses, work closely with the WCHS to ensure the best possible health care for incarcerated individuals. By providing person-centered care and addressing specific health needs, the WCHS aims to improve the well-being and future life prospects of those in prison, ultimately contributing to the health of the wider community upon release.
With a primary health model focused on enabling person-centered care, the WCHS offers a range of services to incarcerated patients, including emergency response, referrals to other healthcare facilities within the Metro North network, and coordination with Queensland Correctional Services. The staff at WCHS are available 24 hours a day to respond to medical emergencies and ensure the safe and timely treatment of patients, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to provide high-quality healthcare services within the correctional setting.
