Young Parents Program Inc. is a vital free service catering to young pregnant and parenting families in the Greater North Brisbane region. With a focus on supporting individuals up to age 23 who experienced their first pregnancy at 19 years or under, YPP offers a range of services aimed at enhancing parenting skills and family well-being. Through Pregnancy and Parenting groups, families can connect with peers, access professional support from midwives and child health nurses, and work on specific goals related to parenting and family dynamics.
At YPP, the team goes beyond group sessions by providing individualized support through home visits or other spaces, allowing families to address their unique needs and challenges. The program operates on a voluntary basis, empowering families to explore and cultivate the type of parent they aspire to be. Whether it’s guidance on parenting techniques, understanding children’s needs, or navigating external factors like relationships, finances, and mental health, YPP is committed to walking alongside families for approximately 6-9 months, offering flexibility and regular reviews to ensure progress.
Aligned with the values of Integrity, Respect, Trust, and Compassion, Young Parents Program Inc. embodies a vision of fostering Connected, Resilient, and Thriving Communities. As a program under Encircle, the organization is dedicated to supporting individuals and families while strengthening community bonds. By acknowledging the traditional owners of the land and engaging in community development work, YPP actively works towards creating a supportive environment where families can thrive and grow together.
