West Bathurst Preschool Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based organization that has been providing high-quality education and care for children since 1974. Managed by a dedicated Management Committee consisting of parents, the preschool offers a nurturing environment where parents are actively involved in the running and management of the service. With a capacity to cater to up to 160 children each week across two preschool services, West Bathurst Preschool focuses on building strong relationships between children, educators, and peers through consistent staffing and a variety of classes tailored to children aged 3 years to school commencement age.
Committed to excellence, West Bathurst Preschool prides itself on the quality and consistency of its staff, ensuring that every child has access to a university-trained early childhood teacher and experienced child care educators. The preschool is licensed and funded by the NSW Department of Education and Communities, with Vanessa Miller serving as the Nominated Supervisor responsible for the day-to-day operations. The expansion of the premises in 2011 reflects the organization’s dedication to meeting the needs of the growing community, providing additional spaces for children in the year prior to school. Additionally, the establishment of EarlyStart Kelso Preschool and Family Centre in 2008 demonstrates the preschool’s commitment to serving children in severely disadvantaged circumstances.
With a focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, West Bathurst Preschool offers a range of classes and playrooms designed to foster children’s development and early learning experiences. By maintaining consistent educators in each class, the preschool ensures that children can establish strong and caring relationships with their caregivers and peers. Through a community-driven approach to education and care, West Bathurst Preschool continues to uphold its mission of providing high-quality early childhood education that empowers children and families to thrive.
