Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre (WPNEC) is the largest facility of its kind in Victoria, offering a wide range of services and amenities for equestrian enthusiasts. With two large indoor arenas, multiple outdoor arenas, stables, day yards, campsites, and a cross country course, WPNEC caters to various levels of riders and hosts major events such as the Melbourne 3 Day International Event and the Australian Show Jumping Championships. The centre’s rich history dates back to 1983 when it was officially opened, and since then, it has played a crucial role in promoting and sustaining the sport of equestrian in Victoria.
Located within the picturesque Werribee Park Precinct, WPNEC is surrounded by iconic landmarks such as Werribee Mansion, Werribee Zoo, and Shadowfax Winery. The centre’s 34-hectare property is leased from the Victorian Government through Parks Victoria and is managed by the WPNEC Committee, comprised of volunteer representatives from Equestrian Victoria and the Victorian Polo Association. Over the years, WPNEC has undergone significant developments, including the construction of indoor arenas, stables, offices, and a world-class cross country course, thanks to the dedication of volunteers and support from the community.
As the most utilised equestrian facility for events in the state, WPNEC attracts thousands of competitors and spectators annually, contributing to the vibrant equestrian scene in Victoria.
