Featuring a large sealed car park, Thorndon Park Reserve provides convenient access for over 150 vehicles, including designated disability parking spaces. The park’s highlight is the all-inclusive playground, designed to celebrate the diverse bird life found in Thorndon Park. Accessible features such as wheelchair swings, raised sand and water play areas, and communication boards cater to individuals with varying needs, promoting an inclusive recreational experience for all.
Operated by the Local Government, Thorndon Park Reserve also houses a kiosk serving a variety of food and beverages, along with a small heritage museum open to visitors on weekends. The park’s amenities include shaded outdoor gym equipment, electric barbeques, picnic tables, and sheltered pavilions available for public use. With accessible facilities like walkways, toilets, and parking spaces, Thorndon Park Reserve prioritizes inclusivity and ensures a pleasant experience for all patrons.
