The Herd Intergenerational Learning Centre is a unique family-owned and operated service founded by sisters Fiona and Anna Glumac, both passionate early childhood teachers. Their philosophy is centered around creating deep connections for children with their world, offering early learning and care for children from 6 weeks to school age. The Herd stands out as one of Australia’s first shared-roof intergenerational care centers, where children and aged care residents come together to enjoy various activities, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.

The journey of The Herd began with the sisters’ inspiration from a documentary on intergenerational care centers in Seattle, sparking a mission to bring this model to Australia. Motivated by their grandmother’s experience in residential aged care, Fiona and Anna are committed to creating a space where young children and older adults can interact and thrive together. With Anna’s expertise in early childhood education and mindfulness practices, and Fiona’s background in school leadership and community engagement, The Herd Intergenerational Learning Centre is a testament to their dedication to enhancing the lives of both children and seniors in a meaningful and compassionate way.
