The Babes Project Cairns is a new center in Far North Queensland dedicated to providing holistic perinatal support to pregnant women and new mothers in the Cairns community. With a decade of experience nurturing Victorian mothers, The Babes Project understands the transformative impact of their care and aims to offer the same level of support to women in Cairns. The center, located at Shop 3, 21-23 Sheridan St in the Cairns CBD, will provide face-to-face programs designed to empower women, build confidence, and equip them with the necessary skills for early motherhood.
Led by experienced local social worker Cristy Mock, who brings a wealth of knowledge from her background as a chaplain and foster care support coordinator, The Babes Project Cairns is committed to making a difference in the lives of mothers and their babies. The center will also train local volunteers to deliver their perinatal program, ensuring a community-driven approach to supporting women through their motherhood journey. The Babes Project Cairns has already received significant support from across Australia, but continues to seek assistance to ensure that mums and bubs in Cairns receive the best start possible.
Recognizing the challenges faced by young mothers in the region, The Babes Project Cairns aims to address the negative attitudes and lack of comprehensive support for teen mums. By offering local, face-to-face, and independent support, the center strives to combat isolation and overwhelm experienced by new mothers. Through their proven program, The Babes Project has seen firsthand the positive impact of personalized care and aims to continue transforming the lives of new mums and their babies in Cairns. Support their cause and help spread the word to make a difference in the community.
