Sydenham Panthers is a proud Basketball Club with a rich history dating back to 1995 when it was established as the Sydenham Saints Basketball Club with the support of the Salvation Army church. The club fields multiple teams in the Keilor Basketball Association and provides basketball training and development for children aged 7 to 20 within the local community. With the backing of loyal sponsors, Sydenham Panthers is able to keep costs down for its members and support the development of coaches.
The club values its sponsors and shows appreciation by providing them with exposure through various advertising channels such as the website, TeamApp, Facebook, and even on club warm-up tops depending on the level of sponsorship. Sponsors are recognized with certificates of appreciation, framed singlets, special function invites, and acknowledgments on Awards Day. This mutually beneficial relationship between the club and its sponsors highlights the commitment to junior sports and local basketball in the community.
Founded on the principles of community support and collaboration, Sydenham Panthers Basketball Club continues to welcome new members who share a passion for basketball and a desire to be part of a vibrant and inclusive sporting organization. The club’s origins trace back to a vision by Peter Harding and Andrew Clinch, who, with the support of the Keilor Salvation Army, laid the foundation for what has evolved into a strong and thriving basketball club. The legacy of dedication and partnership with the local community remains at the core of Sydenham Panthers’ mission and values.
