Stonnington Children’s Centre is an integrated community of families and educators, dedicated to providing the highest quality care and education for Early Learner and Kindergarten children since 1997. Located in South Yarra, Prahran, Windsor, Armadale, Toorak, St Kilda, and beyond, the centre has earned an outstanding reputation for its full educational and individualized curriculum. Embracing an Emergent Curriculum approach, the centre focuses on the journey of Belonging, Being, and Becoming, fostering a warm, inviting, and happy environment for children and parents alike.
With a team of 15 qualified staff, including two kindergarten teachers, Stonnington Children’s Centre prides itself on achieving an ‘EXCEEDING’ rating in the National Quality Standard. The centre’s philosophy revolves around collaborative relationships between educators and families, recognizing the importance of communication and partnership in providing quality early childhood education. Operating as a not-for-profit Incorporated Association managed by a committee of parent representatives, the centre values parental involvement and input, ensuring a holistic approach to child development and well-being.
Offering tailored programs for children aged 1 to 5 years old, Stonnington Children’s Centre focuses on meeting individual needs, promoting self-help skills, independence, and school readiness. Through play-based learning, open-ended resources, and culturally inclusive experiences, the centre aims to prepare children for the transition to school while fostering a love for learning. By incorporating the National Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the centre ensures a comprehensive approach to social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skill development, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for all children.
