The Rockhampton Heritage Village, owned and operated by Rockhampton Regional Council, offers visitors a unique journey back in time to experience life in Central Queensland from the 1850s to the 1950s. Founded in 1997, the Heritage Village originated from the Gangalook Museum, a collection of local historic memorabilia donated to the people of Rockhampton by the Gomersall and Hinz families. With the support of the Friends of the Heritage Village and dedicated volunteers, this living museum provides an educational and entertaining experience for families to learn about the region’s heritage.
