PIT Gymnastics, established in 1979 by John Dorrington and Wendy O’Donahue, has been a pioneering force in the gymnastics community in Victoria. With a rich history spanning over 40 years, the club has been a breeding ground for gymnastic talent, producing top-notch gymnasts, coaches, judges, and administrators. PIT Gymnastics prides itself on its professional approach and commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the gymnastics community.
Under the leadership of Annette Dorrington, the club transitioned from recreational classes to a full-time, professionally run business in 1985. Today, PIT Gymnastics boasts a membership of approximately 750 gymnasts and a dedicated staff of 30 coaches and assistant coaches. The club has expanded its reach over the years, operating satellite centers at various schools and establishing fully equipped gyms in Research and Mill Park to accommodate its growing membership.
With a focus on igniting the passion for movement and the thrill of gymnastics, PIT Gymnastics continues to uphold its legacy of excellence and innovation. The club’s commitment to developing gymnasts and fostering a love for the sport has led to the success of many gymnasts and coaches who have gone on to establish their own clubs and make significant contributions to the gymnastics community.
