Pinewood Preschool is a community kindergarten located in Mount Waverley, offering 4-year-old and 3-year-old preschool programs to over one hundred families in the Monash municipality. Situated on Pinewood Drive, the preschool provides a bright and inviting environment for children to explore and discover in a natural and picturesque setting. Managed by a Committee of Management comprised of volunteer parents, Pinewood Preschool encourages active participation across all aspects of its operations.
At Pinewood Preschool, the belief is that young children learn best through play-based experiences, fostering their capabilities as resourceful learners who actively contribute, initiate, and explore their interests and ideas. The focus is on promoting each child’s confidence and positive self-image through a variety of provisions, experiences, and opportunities that enhance their skills, values, and sensitivities, ultimately leading to success. Emphasizing positive and trusting relationships, the preschool aims to lay the foundations for a love of learning, respect, and tolerance, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable learning journey for every child.
The preschool acknowledges the support of the City of Monash in delivering Early Years Education within the community and recognizes the traditional owners of the land, honoring their connection to the land and waterways. The Committee of Management, elected annually during the AGM, plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of Pinewood Preschool, meeting legal requirements, issuing reports, and fundraising. Through the dedication and hard work of volunteers within the Committee, the educators are able to focus on providing quality care and education to the children entrusted to their care.
