Nuworks Theatre is an independent not-for-profit community theatre entity that has been continuously operating since 1988. Embracing a collaborative, egalitarian, and investigative approach, the theatre strongly advocates for diversity and partners with various charities, notably Possible Dreams International. Located at Mills Street Warehouse in Cheltenham, Nuworks Theatre takes pride in creating original works, including music components, and recording their own songs in a dedicated studio.
Specializing in Epic Theatre style, Nuworks Theatre’s productions often incorporate musical and choreographic elements, drawing inspiration from the works of Bertolt Brecht and Erwin Piscator. Despite its international tours to prestigious festivals like The Edinburgh Fringe, The Adelaide Fringe, and The Auckland Fringe, Nuworks Theatre remains committed to its unpaid model, with all artists, directors, writers, technicians, actors, and musicians contributing voluntarily to the creative process.
