National Police Memorial Australia was established in 2001 in Canberra to honor Australian Police Officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Jointly funded by the Australian Government, State and Territory Police Services, and the Police Federation of Australia, the $2.4 million Memorial was completed and dedicated on 29 September 2006, coinciding with National Police Remembrance Day.
