Macquarie Conservatorium of Music is a non-profit community organization located in Dubbo, New South Wales, offering a wide range of music programs for youth and adults in the Orana region. Established in 1987 as the School of Music, the conservatorium has since evolved to provide high-quality music education through individual and group tuition, workshops, performances, and ensemble activities. With a team of specialist music teachers, Macquarie Conservatorium aims to develop students’ musical skills and techniques across various instruments, voice, and music theory.
As a member of the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums, Macquarie Conservatorium is part of a network of 17 regional conservatoriums dedicated to delivering community-based music education in regional New South Wales. The conservatorium offers programs for beginners to advanced levels, including access to music education through Zoom and video conferencing for remote students. With a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, Macquarie Conservatorium collaborates with other regional conservatoriums to provide a diverse range of instrumental tuition and music-making opportunities.
Each year, Macquarie Conservatorium hosts public concerts, events, workshops, and masterclasses, showcasing the talents of its students and visiting artists. Supported by the NSW Government and governed by a dedicated Board of community members, the conservatorium continues to enrich the cultural landscape of Dubbo and the surrounding region by fostering a love for music and providing a platform for musical expression and growth.
