MAC 02, located on Hobart’s iconic waterfront, is TasPorts’ premier indoor venue ideal for medium to large corporate events, concerts, and trade shows. With a capacity to accommodate up to 1,700 guests in theatre seating, 110 booths for trade shows, 1,300 for conference dinners, and 3,000 for concerts, MAC 02 offers a versatile space with concrete floors, high ceilings, and large glass windows. The venue is available for dry hire only, allowing clients the flexibility to personalize and tailor the space to their event needs.
Originally built in 1958 as the largest cement shed in Australia, MAC 02 has a rich history as part of Tasmania’s waterfront heritage. In 2013, TasPorts invested $7 million to convert MAC 02 into a stylish and contemporary cruise terminal to meet the growing demand for dedicated cruise facilities in Hobart. TasPorts, a state-owned company responsible for eleven Tasmanian ports and the Devonport Airport, plays a crucial role in facilitating trade and connecting people, products, and solutions for the benefit of all Tasmanians.
