Detailed Information

Iranian Cultural School (ICS) is a non-profit community school based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, established in 1982. Run by dedicated volunteers, including parents of current and former students, ICS is a member of Community Language Victoria and focuses on teaching Persian language and culture to students of all backgrounds. The school offers classes from Prep level to Year 11 and 12, including VCE Units 1, 2, 3, and 4, providing a warm and welcoming environment for students to connect with their heritage and traditions.

With a commitment to supporting Persian immigrant students in maintaining their cultural identity, ICS uses a curriculum aligned with Victorian public schools to ensure eligibility for government support. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the school seamlessly transitioned to online classes, maintaining educational continuity for its students. ICS also offers Farsi classes for English-speaking adults, further promoting the preservation and dissemination of Persian language and culture in the community.

Each year, ICS organizes educational activities around themes such as family, food, sport, and art, allowing students to explore different aspects of Persian culture and values. The school’s dedication to providing quality education is reflected in its use of textbooks from various countries, including Sweden and England, to cater to different age groups and learning levels. By offering a range of classes and resources, ICS empowers students to excel academically and develop a strong sense of cultural identity.
