The HMAS Sydney II Memorial is a National Memorial dedicated to commemorating the loss of The HMAS Sydney II and its 645 men on 19th November 1941. The project to build this significant Memorial was initiated by the Rotary club in collaboration with various organizations and individuals, including the Shire of Greenough and the late Governor of Western Australia, Lieutenant-General John Sanderson, A.C. The Memorial was designed by Joan Walsh-Smith and Charles Smith, with the Eternal Flame being lit on the 60th anniversary of the tragic event.

Situated at Mount Scott in Geraldton, Western Australia, the HMAS Sydney II Memorial encompasses a designated site that includes a landscape plan with native shrubs, access pathways, and a central circular area for the principal Memorial elements. The design of the Memorial aims to honor the lost crew and their families, making it a place of National Significance in Australian Naval History.
