Dundullimal Homestead is a piece of living history and a unique place to visit in Dubbo. The 1840s homestead, one of Australia’s oldest and most refined slab houses, offers visitors a glimpse into the pioneering past with its wide halls, fine cedar joinery, and cobblestone verandah. The park-like grounds surrounding the homestead feature sandstone stables, a timber church, and a blacksmith’s forge, providing a real sense of working life on a sheep and cattle station.

Located on Wiradjuri Country, Dundullimal Homestead holds significant historical value as the head station of a large squatting run dating back to 1836. The homestead has remained nearly unaltered since its construction, serving as a tangible connection to the early squatters’ era. Visitors can explore the unique collection of 1850s furniture, seasonal flowers, and country rose gardens, while also experiencing the natural beauty of the Macquarie River along the nearby Tracker Riley Cycleway.

Children and groups are welcome to visit Dundullimal Homestead, where they can take self-guided tours of the house and grounds. The venue is also wheelchair accessible, making it inclusive for all visitors. Additionally, the homestead serves as a picturesque location for weddings and special events, offering a blend of historic charm and rural landscapes that transport guests back in time to Australia’s pioneering days.
