Croydon Special Developmental School is a leading educational institution dedicated to providing quality education for students with moderate-severe intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and physical disabilities. Established in 1990, our school caters to students aged 5 to 18 years, offering a specialized Early Education Program for children aged 2.8 to 4.8 years with developmental delays or diagnosed disabilities. Our team of highly skilled teachers, education support, and allied health staff work collaboratively with families to deliver individualized and engaging learning experiences.
We are thrilled to announce the receipt of $11.747 million in funding from the 2022–23 State Budget to upgrade and modernize our school facilities. Additionally, we are introducing an Out of Hours School Care Program in Term 3, in partnership with Interchange Outer East, based at Eastern Ranges School in Ferntree Gully. This program will provide transportation for Croydon SDS students, further enhancing our commitment to supporting student wellbeing and engagement through structured and positive learning environments.
At Croydon Special Developmental School, our core values of care, share, do your best, and be safe underpin our educational philosophy. We prioritize the holistic development of our students by explicitly teaching personal and social capabilities through the Respectful Relationships curriculum and School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework. We welcome families to connect with us for more information or to arrange a personal tour, as we strive to understand and cater to each child’s unique strengths and needs.
