CatholicCare Tasmania is the primary social services agency of the Catholic Church across Tasmania, with over 60 years of experience in delivering a wide range of services and support to improve individual, family, and community wellbeing. With a team of more than 450 staff members, CatholicCare offers programs and projects across key areas, focusing particularly on children, young people, and families of all backgrounds and circumstances.
Founded in 1960 as the Catholic Family Welfare Bureau in Hobart, CatholicCare Tasmania has a rich history of providing marriage, family, and relationship counseling services that remain at the core of its mission. Guided by the Archbishop’s Charter for CatholicCare, the organization is committed to fostering a spirit of humble service, mercy, and compassion for all, in alignment with the teachings of the Catholic Church and Catholic Social Teaching.
