Cascades Female Factory Historic Site aims to foster a greater understanding and appreciation for the largely untold story of female convicts sent to Australia. As the most significant site associated with female convicts in Australia, it holds global significance and is listed as one of the 11 sites forming the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property. Managed by the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA), Cascades Female Factory Historic Site is dedicated to preserving and sharing the extraordinary history of Australian convicts, enriching communities through cultural, social, environmental, and economic benefits.

PAHSMA, a Government Business Enterprise, operates under the principles of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2002, ensuring transparency and accountability in its management of multiple heritage sites. With a diverse Board appointed by the Tasmanian Government, including experienced individuals from various sectors, PAHSMA is committed to conserving, creating, and sharing convict places and stories.
