Cairns Community Kindergarten, established in 1972 by a group of parents, is renowned for its commitment to excellence in Early Education. With a strong emphasis on fostering a love for learning, the Kindergarten provides a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, take risks, and be curious. As a community-based organization, parents play a pivotal role in decision-making, ensuring that the community remains at the core of all activities.
At Cairns Community Kindergarten, children aged 0-5 years can embark on a journey of discovery and growth through a play-based educational program. The Kindergarten offers two groups, Kookaburra and Sunbird, each designed to provide children with 600 hours of education as per Universal Access requirements. With a team of highly qualified and experienced staff, the Kindergarten prides itself on exceeding National Quality Standards, offering a safe and stimulating outdoor environment tailored to maximize children’s development.
The Kindergarten’s philosophy, “Listening and Learning Together,” is rooted in the belief that play is a powerful tool for children’s learning and engagement. By aligning with the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, Cairns Community Kindergarten ensures that children receive a holistic educational experience that prepares them for school and life. With a focus on building strong relationships within the community, the Kindergarten hosts various events and activities that foster lasting connections among families and educators.
