The Buderim War Memorial Community Association (BWMCA) was established in late 1945 with a unique vision to honor those who fought for their country by preserving the spirit of community that defined the area during the war years. Today, the BWMCA serves as a network of over 60 affiliate organizations, clubs, and associations, managing various properties on behalf of the community. The association is dedicated to organizing a range of events, including Australia Day Celebrations, Jazz In The Park, ANZAC & Remembrance Day Services, and Christmas Carols On Buderim.
As part of its commitment to commemorating its history and contributions, the BWMCA recently released a book detailing the association’s journey, its affiliates, and the Buderim area. Additionally, the association unveiled an Honour Roll to recognize BWMCA Honorary Life Members and past Presidents. Despite facing challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the BWMCA remains steadfast in its mission to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2022, showcasing its resilience and dedication to the community.
Located at 50 Burnett St Buderim, the BWMCA continues to uphold its core values of community spirit and remembrance. With a focus on fostering unity and honoring the sacrifices of the past, the association plays a vital role in preserving the heritage and traditions of Buderim. Through its events, publications, and ongoing initiatives, the BWMCA remains a cornerstone of the community, embodying the enduring legacy of those who served their country.
