Welcome to Black Forest Primary School! Our school, established in 1919, is dedicated to fostering successful, lifelong learners through a passion for 21st Century learning. With a focus on individualized education, our experienced teachers and support staff provide high-quality, targeted instruction to guide our students towards their greatest achievements. We offer a range of specialized intervention programs and a strong emphasis on differentiation within the classroom to meet the diverse learning needs of our 460 students across 18 classes from Reception to Year 6.

Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching and learning in Literacy and Numeracy, while also integrating 21st Century learning and STEM principles throughout. Students participate in specialized teaching areas such as Physical Education, Science, Italian, and Music, along with engaging extracurricular activities like SAPSASA, instrumental music, choir, and performing arts.

One of our school’s unique features is our renowned School Garden, one of the oldest in Australia, where students engage in hands-on learning experiences related to gardening and sustainability. With a Nature Play focus throughout our school grounds, students have ample opportunities to explore and discover.
