Bendigo FLO (BFLO) is a specialized government school in Bendigo, Australia, established in partnership with five government secondary schools and Kalianna Special School in 2017. BFLO aims to provide tailored support to secondary school-aged youth who are at risk of not completing their education, helping them get back on track with schooling and successfully transition back to their local school or pursue further training leading to employment.
BFLO operates as a second campus of Weeroona College Bendigo (WCB), with all students enrolled through WCB. The school’s policies are endorsed by the Principal and College Council of WCB, ensuring a collaborative approach to supporting students in need of specialized assistance beyond what mainstream schools can provide. Eligibility for BFLO is determined through a referral process involving the six government secondary schools in Bendigo, with approval based on evidence provided by the referring school, students, families, and external support services.
At BFLO, the focus is on creating a safe, kind, and inclusive environment where students can develop personal capabilities, literacy, and numeracy skills essential for navigating secondary school successfully. The school values safety, kindness, inclusivity, lifelong learning, and empowerment, emphasizing positive behavior through wholesome relationships and explicit teaching of safe and kind habits. With a commitment to supporting students in their educational journey, BFLO prioritizes successful transitions and the overall wellbeing of its students, staff, and families.
