Detailed Information

Bendigo East Aquatic Centre is home to the Bendigo East Swimming Club (BESC), a longstanding institution in the Bendigo community for over a century. The club prides itself on fostering a love for sport and fitness, offering swim training that not only develops strength and cardiovascular conditioning but also provides a social atmosphere for swimmers to thrive. With experienced and nurturing coaches, BESC encourages swimmers to reach their full potential and consistently achieve great results in competitions at local, district, and even national levels.

At the heart of Bendigo East Aquatic Centre is a 50m outdoor pool that has been a fixture in the community for over 110 years. The pool is heated to approximately 28 degrees, allowing for year-round training in beautiful surroundings. BESC’s philosophy revolves around creating a friendly and inclusive community, welcoming families from Bendigo and surrounding districts. Swimmers of all abilities are catered to, with squad levels available throughout the week, offering training sessions in the mornings, afternoons, and even on Saturdays.

As a not-for-profit volunteer organization, BESC is dedicated to facilitating participation in club-based swimming activities, from social swimmers to the development of potential international champions. The club’s history of producing top-tier swimmers selected for State and National teams speaks to its commitment to providing a nurturing environment where swimmers can challenge themselves and grow both athletically and personally. Joining BESC means becoming part of a supportive community that values sportsmanship, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence in swimming.
