Acton Early Childhood Centre is a community-based early learning centre located within the ANU Campus, offering a homely and inclusive environment where each child is valued as a unique individual. With over 35 years of history, the centre operates in a heritage building that enhances its vision of providing a nurturing space for children to learn and grow. The team of passionate educators at Acton Early Childhood Centre is dedicated to promoting children’s rights, safety, and wellbeing, while respecting their diverse backgrounds and needs.
At Acton Early Childhood Centre, children are encouraged to lead their own learning journey in a safe and respectful environment. The centre’s philosophy revolves around immersing children in nature, fostering imaginative play, meaningful work, and engaging experiences in arts, nature, and the community. Educators at the centre tailor learning programs to accommodate children’s individual learning styles, abilities, interests, linguistic and cultural diversity, and family circumstances, aiming to support each child’s holistic development and sense of identity.
With a maximum capacity of 54 children per day, Acton Early Childhood Centre offers both full and part-time care options, with a focus on creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all children and their families. The centre is assessed by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority and currently holds a rating of Meeting the National Quality Standard, reflecting its commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care services.
