Upon enrollment, students at Black Mountain School, along with staff and families, collaborate to develop a Personal Futures Action Plan (PFAP) that guides each student’s educational journey and transitions into post-school life. The PFAP plays a central role in shaping each student’s learning experience, ensuring a seamless pathway through their schooling years. The school’s approach to education is structured around four Learning Teams – Junior, Middle, and Senior – where students are grouped based on their unique learning goals and pathways identified in their PFAP.
