Darebin Childcare & Kindergarten is a community-run, non-profit organization that has been providing care and education to families for over 30 years. With a dedicated committee of management, all parents are encouraged to join and have a say in the running of the center. The center offers a range of services including Long Day Care for children aged 6 months to 6 years, as well as funded sessional and integrated programs for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds.
The center prides itself on its use of Storypark, a platform that allows parents to stay connected with their children’s activities and communicate with educators easily. Darebin Childcare & Kindergarten follows a philosophy that focuses on promoting children’s learning and development through informed decision-making, identity building, community connection, and overall well-being. The center’s vision is to provide a high-quality, play-based environment where all children are treated with respect and equality.
Committed to child safety and empowerment, Darebin Childcare & Kindergarten has a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and actively works towards implementing Child Safe Standards. The center acknowledges the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional Owners of the land and is dedicated to creating a culturally safe environment for all children, including those from Aboriginal and linguistically diverse backgrounds. With experienced early childhood practitioners and a focus on building a strong culture of child safety, Darebin Childcare & Kindergarten aims to prepare children for a bright future filled with learning and growth.
