The Centre, established in 1999, is owned by Lake Macquarie City Council and operated by a Not-For-Profit Board, reflecting its community-focused approach. The Centre’s history is rich with hosting State, National, and international events, including being chosen by the Gold Medal winning Chinese Olympic Team for pre-Games training. It has received acclaim for its quality surfaces and facilities, attracting athletes and clubs for various training sessions and competitions. The ongoing expansion project, initiated in 2023, aims to deliver a state-of-the-art sport and wellness facility that will nurture international standard athletes from regional NSW and Australia.
