The Townsville Flexible Learning Centre, part of the Edmund Rice Education Australia network, was established in 2006 to cater to the diverse needs of young individuals in the Townsville region who have disengaged from traditional educational settings. Operating on principles of respect, honesty, participation, and safety, the Centre fosters genuine relationships with students and their families, emphasizing the uniqueness and dignity of each individual.
With a recent new build in 2023, the Centre offers a range of accredited and non-accredited learning options aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the Australian Core Skills Framework. Through a project-based learning approach and consultation with students, the curriculum is tailored to meet the specific needs of each learner. The Centre provides various programs, including Junior, Middle, and Senior Programs, as well as Outreach and Bridge Burragah Programs to offer additional support to those not yet ready for the main Centre.
Committed to the safety, well-being, and participation of all young people, the Townsville Flexible Learning Centre focuses on creating a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and personally. With a dedicated team of staff and a holistic approach to education, the Centre aims to empower students to reach their full potential and successfully reintegrate into the educational system.
