Detailed Information

The Brisbane Transport Museum, operated by The Queensland Omnibus & Coach Society Inc., is a charitable organisation dedicated to preserving and recording Queensland’s passenger transport heritage since July 1996. With a fleet of 24 historical buses and coaches ranging from 1938 to 1996 models, the society’s group of volunteers actively restore and maintain these vehicles for the benefit of future generations.

As the owner and operator of Queensland’s first and only dedicated bus museum, the Brisbane Transport Museum stands out from other automotive groups by its commitment to preserving the rich history of public transport in the region. The society is largely funded by donations and in-kind support from generous suppliers and community members, allowing them to continue their mission of showcasing the evolution of bus transportation in Queensland.

Through community events, day tours, and the operation of preserved vintage buses for joy rides, the Brisbane Transport Museum provides a unique opportunity for the public to step back in time and experience the way of life their ancestors did. With a focus on research, preservation, and education, the society remains dedicated to improving its fleet and sharing the history of the Queensland bus industry through various mediums such as historical information, publications, and tours.
