Detailed Information

Darwin Middle School is a fully STEAM powered lighthouse school, offering a strong focus on the Sciences and The Performing Arts to engage students and equip them with essential 21st Century skills. As the largest middle school in the Northern Territory, we provide a wide range of diverse academic and social experiences to our students. We value our students as emerging young adults and prioritize listening to their needs and aspirations.

At Darwin Middle School, Year 7 students are required to complete four core subjects along with a Language and Health and Physical Education course. They also have the opportunity to explore Electives in Arts and Technologies Learning Areas each term. Year 8 students follow a similar structure, while Year 9 students have the flexibility to choose elective subjects for the year, with a compulsory Health and Physical Education component for one semester. This approach ensures a well-rounded education that caters to the individual interests and development of each student.

With a commitment to providing a holistic educational experience, Darwin Middle School stands out for its dedication to nurturing students’ academic growth and personal development. By combining a rigorous academic curriculum with a focus on the arts and sciences, we strive to prepare our students for success in the ever-evolving landscape of the 21st century.
