Broadbeach Library offers a large, contemporary space and a wide range of library services, resources, and activities. Situated just a few minutes walk from the heart of Broadbeach, opposite Pacific Fair shopping centre, the library is one of the city’s most environmentally-sustainable buildings. Designed to reduce the use of water, electricity, and air conditioning, the current building opened in 2008, with a rich history dating back to the opening of the first public library in the area in 1974.
Formerly known as Canal Estates Library and later as Mermaid Waters Library, the establishment was renamed Broadbeach Library in 2008 upon its relocation to the present site. The library serves as a hub for community engagement, offering a diverse range of services and programs designed to inspire, inform, and encourage active participation. With a comprehensive collection of physical and digital resources, including books, audio-visual materials, and online content, Broadbeach Library caters to a wide audience, promoting diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing for all.
