Detailed Information

Linde Reserve, home to the Linde Community Garden, is a vibrant hub located in the western corner of Dunstone Grove in Stepney, Australia. This shared garden boasts over 60 individual garden beds, including recently installed wicking beds designed for easy access and gardening from a seated position. The garden is open to all members of the community, with a focus on inclusivity by providing wheelchair-accessible pathways and opportunities for everyone to participate in gardening activities.

Founded in 2011 as part of the Norwood, Payneham and St. Peters Community Gardens Association Inc., the Linde Community Garden embodies a philosophy of communal gardening where members collectively work on and harvest from the entire site. Regular quarterly meetings offer a platform for members to engage in discussions, share ideas, and enjoy wood-fired pizza lunches while socializing with fellow garden enthusiasts. The garden’s commitment to organic principles and adherence to a set of guidelines ensure a harmonious and sustainable gardening environment for all participants.

As a pioneering initiative in the NP&SP Council area, the Linde Community Garden sets the standard for community-driven gardening projects. With a history rooted in collaboration between dedicated charter members and local council authorities, the garden continues to evolve as new members join and contribute to its growth. By fostering a sense of belonging and shared responsibility, Linde Reserve serves as a welcoming space where individuals can connect with nature, learn about sustainable practices, and cultivate a sense of community spirit.
