Geelong United Basketball is Australia’s largest regional basketball association, formed through the amalgamation of Basketball Geelong and the Corio Bay Stingrays in 2019. This union has allowed the organization to better serve the basketball community in the region by combining competitions and pathways programs. With a focus on creating frameworks for clubs, athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers to contribute and grow, Geelong United Basketball aims to be recognized as the leading regional basketball association in Australia.

Committed to upholding association values, Geelong United Basketball strives to provide pathways for participation and excellence in basketball. The organization boasts a large junior program and has produced several high-level professional athletes. With a dedicated team of 11 staff members working tirelessly to support the basketball community in Geelong, Geelong United Basketball continues to grow and push towards its goal of reaching 1000 community teams and over 500 pathways players.

The Geelong United Board, chaired by Andy Mathers, plays a crucial role in providing governance for the organization to ensure its continued success. Through its various policies and documents, such as the GUB Operations Manual and GUB By-laws, Geelong United Basketball aims to showcase the health, lifestyle, and social benefits of basketball.
