HopeCare Bargain Centre, formerly known as Central West Care, has been a cornerstone of the Bathurst community since its establishment in 2002. Specializing in the sale of quality second-hand goods, including clothing, household items, and furniture, the Bargain Centre serves as a vital hub for sustainable welfare services. By processing up to 450,000kgs of goods annually, the centre not only prevents items from ending up in landfills but also generates essential funds to support a wide range of community services offered by HopeCare.
At the core of the Bargain Centre’s mission is the concept of “turning waste into welfare,” exemplifying their commitment to both environmental sustainability and community support. Through a dedicated team of 4 staff members and over 20 volunteers, the centre provides unique retail experiences while creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in various work programs. Additionally, the centre welcomes donations of goods and services from local businesses, further strengthening its ties within the community.
As a registered charity with the ACNC, the Bargain Centre not only accepts monetary donations but also ensures that all profits from sales directly contribute to supporting local initiatives. By offering a platform for individuals to donate goods, services, and funds, the centre continues to play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of giving back and making a positive impact on the community.
