The Kids’ Castle (TKC) is a not-for-profit Before and After School Care center located within Castle Cove Public School in Australia. Operated by a dedicated team of professionals and supported by a volunteer Parent Management Committee, TKC offers a nurturing and interactive environment for children attending Castle Cove Primary School. With a focus on quality care, the center provides a fun weekly program and a range of extra-curricular activities such as drama, swimming, and music to engage and enrich the children’s experience.
Committed to promoting independence and self-esteem, TKC encourages children to make their own activity choices during sessions. The center also offers optional homework assistance and ensures a healthy eating environment with well-balanced snacks prepared in a hygienic manner. Recognizing the importance of dietary requirements, TKC maintains a “Nut Free Zone” to cater to children with allergies and special needs, providing a safe and inclusive space for all attendees.
With a philosophy rooted in Vygotskian/Constructivist principles, TKC aims to create a supportive and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. Through activities like the 4, 5, 6 Club for older children and a focus on individualized care, the center strives to meet the diverse needs of its young attendees while fostering a sense of community and belonging within the Castle Cove school setting.
