The Launceston Competitions Association, established 121 years ago, stands as one of Australia’s oldest and most esteemed eisteddfods. Rooted in the belief in the boundless potential of human creativity, our platform transcends mere talent showcase to open doors to a realm of infinite opportunities. Whether a seasoned professional or an aspiring artist, we foster an environment that encourages individuals to unleash their artistic flair and skills.
Founded by Presbyterian Minister Reverend Henry Jones and his dedicated committee, the Launceston Competitions Association is a community-driven, not-for-profit organization that offers a diverse range of genres for participation, including Speech and Drama, Music, and Dancing. Held annually from May to July, our competitions provide a nurturing and secure space for performers of all ages to showcase their talents and express themselves freely.
With a rich history steeped in tradition and a commitment to fostering artistic growth, the Launceston Competitions Association invites individuals to join us on a journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration. Whether you are looking to hone your skills, gain valuable performance experience, or simply connect with a vibrant community of fellow artists, we welcome you to be a part of our legacy and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of creativity that defines our eisteddfod.
